Excellence in 4-H Projects Exhibited at the County Fair

4-H members showed up with quality and quantity at the PRCF this year, according to Powder River Extension Agent Julie Riley.

"We were grateful, this year, that 4-H members experienced the interviews with their judges." explained Mary Rumph, Powder River Extension Agent. Last year, the pandemic restricted in-person interviews.

"I haven't even met some of the 4-H photography kids," explained Connie Barnhart, "and they've been in the project two years. It's such a pleasure to visit with them and discover all that they learned by making their exhibits for the fair," Barnhart added.

Lauryn Billing again excelled in photography and home environment, using family members as subjects for her photography and helping her sister, Brandi, remodel her kitchen for home environment. Colton Jones created an actual raccoon hat for his leatherwork project and Reuben Kinzer crafted a homemade bow and arrow for shooting sports. Ava Landa built a log cabin for her cat with logs harvested from the timber on her family's ranch. These exhibits were just a sampling of the many fine 4-H entries fair goers experienced at the 2021 Powder River County fair. Please see the "4-H Fair Award Photos" album for more pictures.
