Recently PRCDHS art students participated in the 2nd Student Juried Exhibition at the Waterworks Art Museum (WAM). Students from Miles City, Jordan and Broadus were invited to submit artwork for the exhibition in conjunction with the WAM annual Western Art Roundup featuring Andy Watson, PBR photographer.
Ten PRCDHS art students were able to attend the opening of the Student Juried Exhibition on Friday, April 23rd. This year's juror, Ariel Grosfield, from Billings gave encouraging individual critiques of their artwork to each participating student. She stated frequently that the quality of artwork was exemplary and she wished she could give everyone an award. Monetary awards and certificates for Best of Show and Honorable Mention awards were presented to award winners.
Michaley Knapp received a monetary award and a certificate for Honorable Mention in the grade 9-12 division for her ceramic narrative plate honoring her father's participation as a firefighter in the 2012 fires.
Archer Edwards received a monetary award and a Best of Show certificate in the grade 7-8 division for his 3 minute claymation entitled "The Green Goblin". The video can be seen on the school website (broadus. net). The Student Juried Exhibition and Andy Watson's great PBR photography will be on display at the Waterworks Art Museum in Miles City through June 30th.
