Broadus Elementary students compete in Battle of the Books

Broadus Elementary hosted our annual Battle of the Books last week. Each team of 2-3 students was responsible for reading 12 books from a predetermined list and then answered questions about the titles in quiz bowl style. Our 5th and 6th grade battle was held on Tuesday, April 20 with the following teams:

Brock Gali and Bradyn Stoddard-Terrill competed as a team, Kassie Hagedorn, Justin Aye, and Kordell Schonenback on a team, Alexis Godfredson and Jordyn Schroeder as a team, Lucas Capp, Logan Capp, and Kade VerWolf (who was out on the day of the battle), and the winning 5th & 6th grade team comprised of Whitney Hartman, Danica Schroeder, and Madisyn Kramme.

The 3rd & 4th Grade Battle was held the following day on April 21 with the following teams:

Isaac McMullan, Carter D'Amico and Karlee Emmons competed together, while the winning team was Sammie Threefingers-Hart, Reece Emmons, and Anna Hagedorn. Hart and Emmons are the reigning state champions in their age group.

The two winning teams will be participating in the State Battle of the Books on May 7 via Zoom.
