Reminder: Health Fair coming Thursday April 22

By Kerry Gardner

We are gearing up for the HEALTH FAIR on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Community Center and Hammond School. We have a variety of tests available including Chemistry Panel, Lipid Panel, CBC, TSH, PSA and HGB A1c for diabetics and Vitamin D. These are all screening tests and we remind you to take the results to your healthcare provider when you receive your results. The test results will be returned in a week and if you will not be in town to pick these up, please send a stamped self-addressed envelope and we will mail them to you. Also, if your spouse has a test we need his/her permission written or called to us for you to pick their tests up.

We ask that you be pre-registered and pre-paid by April 15th, 2021, this does insure the paperwork will be completed in time for the Health Fair. Call 436-2651 if you have any question and Debbie Harrington is in charge of those at Hammond, 427-5383.

Please drink plenty of water the day before and the morning of the testing, along with your morning medications. We ask if you have signed up for the Lipid Panel to fast, no food after midnight to insure an accurate testing of your Cholesterol and Triglycerides. After Grad Committee will be providing breakfast at the Community Center for a donation. They use the money to buy prizes for their game night and gifts for the graduates.

Our plan is to have 18 clients in at a time to help with social distancing during your time slot given to you, so we ask that you not come early, and if you do, please wait outside. Pat Hanlan will greet you at the front door to promote her Veteran Poppys, then you will have your blood drawn and from there is the option to have breakfast. We will have limited booths inside, and Louise Talcott graciously has offered to take your blood pressure this year. We are doing what we can to provide this service for our community, and feel free to wear a mask if you so choose.

Please pre-register and pre-pay by April 15th, 2021 and see you on the 22nd of April at the Community Center.
