Riggin Schaffer

By Broadus Hawk Wrestling Coach Frankie Schoonover

Riggin Schaffer is a freshman wrestler at 138 lbs. Riggin brings old fashioned toughness to the room; he has a no quit attitude and doesn't slow down, even when tired. Riggin shows up to practice each day with one thing in mind: to get better. He pushes himself in the room daily and continues to show progress because of it. With Riggin’s work ethic and desire to be the best, he will be a very exciting wrestler to watch throughout his high school career.

When asked what he likes about wrestling he said “I'm not sure, I just have an affinity for the sport”. There isn't much he dislikes about wrestling except when his opponent runs an armbar - he isn't a big fan of that move. Riggin isn't quite sure what his plans are after high school but he knows he wants a job where he works with his hands either as a mechanic, working with horses, or ranch work. Riggin would like to thank his grandparents and his mom and dad for the support that they give him - not just in wrestling and football but in all aspects of his life.
