In a change from previous years, the Elementary Christmas Concert was held in the gym, where attendees could better distance themselves. In the photo below courtesy of Libby Nisley, the Broadus Kindergarten class performs the "Peppermint Stick Song" as the last act of the night. The concert was directed by Lisa Lynch, and accompanied by Lisa Gaskill.
The Elementary Christmas concert took place last week, in the gymasium at the high school. The change in venue compared to other years, which took place in the high school auditorium, was due to social distancing guidelines. Those attending the performances were tasked with wearing masks, and were spread throughout the gym.
To kick off the show, titled "I need a Christmas Vacation!", the 5th Grade Band performed Good King Wenceslas, a Traditional English Carol and Jolly Old St. Nicholas, an American Carol. The 6th Grade Band then played the catchy tunes Jingle Bells by Pierpont and St. Nick on the Housetop by Feldstein/ O'Reilly. Nearly all of the 5th and 6th Grade students participate in band.
Next up the 6th Grade, consisting of Justin Aye, Shaylee Bilbrey, Logan Capp, Kyler Day, Caty Emmons, Tabitha Escott, Kassie Hagedorn, Eli Jurica, Ashton Madsen, Macyn McDowell, Kordell Schoenback, Laney Williams, performed Spread a Little Christmas Cheer by Donnelly/Strid.
The 1st and 2nd Grade joined together and delighted the crowd with Joy, Manger, Jingle Bells Medley by Handle/Luther/Coates and Here Comes Santa Claus by G. Autry. The First Grade class includes Caden D'Amico, Carson D'Amico, Trace Emmons, Thad Escott, Griffin Gardner, Myla Gatlin, Senra Gnerer, Paisley Harper, Charles Hartman, Annabel Jesttes, Krystin Kramme and Sophie Ostendorf. Second Graders are Rickee Bilbrey, Skyler Burek, Mikayla Capp, Maci Emmons, Clinton Handran, Faith Hopkins, Joelle Jurica, Hazel Kinzer, Avery Kramme, Dylan Krantz, Peyton Martinson, Gus Strackbein and Daxson Wahl.
The 3rd Grade students, Carter D'Amico, Aria Gatlin, Anna Hagedorn, Sutton Hodge, Given Hopkins, Raegan Klemm, Courtney Kuhbacher, Macey Madsen, Pruitt McDowell, Isaac McMullan, Landon Powell, Kinzie Randall, Scarlett Talcott and Ilea Wahl, sang Let It Snow, arranged by Coates.
3rd and 4th Grade teamed up to sing Home for Christmas Medley by Addy/Coates.
Zackary Augare, Randen Bilbrey, Reagan Boman, Gary Gatlin, Mesa Graff, Trey Harmon, Jaelyn Jurica, Denver Kuhbacher, Colton Mitchell, Ryder Opstedahl, Sawyer Ostendorf, Trystan Powell, Dolly Randall, Jayce Worman and Kambry Yonkee of the Kindergarten class performed Snowman on the Lawn by J. Jacobson.
The 6th Grade presented The Frosty Hand Jive by J. Gallina.
The 4th Grade, Karlee Emmons, Reece Emmons, Thorin Hanson, Addison Harper, Kacyn Hinman, Kimber Hodge, Tyler Jurica, Delaney Ruland, and Sammie Threefingers-Hart sang Fum, Fum Fum, a Catalan Carol.
The 5th Graders, Lucas Capp, Brooke Escott, Brock Gali, Alexis Gotfredson, Max Grant, Emelyn Harper, Whitney Hartman, Colton Jones, Bonita Kinzer, Madisyn Kramme, Kanin Krantz, Landyn Merwin, Grayson Murdoch, Addison Randall, Dylan Roberts, Rachel Rosencranz, Danica Schroeder, Jordyn Schroeder, Hunter Stanton, Braydn Stoddard-Terrill, Emma Stackbein, Kade VerWolf and Tenley Yonkee performed Feliz Navidad by J. Feliciano and Santa is the Man by Brownsey/ Lantz.
The Kindergarten class performed Peppermint Stick Song by T& P Jennings.
To conclude the wonderful evening, everyone joined together to sing Silent Night by Gruber and We Wish You a Merry Christmas, an English Carol.
