Lights, Camera, Action! Here at Powder River County High School, we are celebrating Homecoming, from October 19th to 24th, a change from the previous scheduling due to COVID-19. This year's theme is Cinema! The dress-up days for the high school are Favorite Movie Monday, Disney Tuesday, Red Carpet Wednesday, Throwback Thursday, and last but not least, Hawk Day on Friday!
Dates and times may be subject to change. There is a junior varsity football game Monday at 4:30 p.m. against Fairview. The varsity football will compete against Circle Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. Coronation will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gym. The candidates are Kyle Minow, Gavin Severeide, Joziah Brost, Megan Johnson, Layla Preite, and Deanna Twedt. Following coronation, there will be a "Tournament Night" consisting of badminton, ping pong, a movie scavenger hunt, and a sack race to finish the night. Parents are welcome to join in on the competition!
Friday, October 23, there is a junior high basketball game versus Wibaux. The Homecoming parade will take place at 4:30 following the junior high basketball games. The football game against Forsyth will take place later that evening at 7:00 p.m. The varsity volleyball team will compete first against the Plevna Cougars at 11 a.m. Next, the volleyball teams will take on the Ekalaka Bulldogs with junior varsity at 3 p.m. and varsity playing at 4:30. The FFA Slave Auction will also take place as a silent bid auction throughout the games on Friday and Saturday. Come cheer on the Hawks!
