A Montana Perspective” for Final Reimagining Rural Session
Sarah Calhoun, founder of the White Sulphur Springs-based clothing company Red Ants Pants is “virtually” coming to our town Tuesday October 13th for the final session of the statewide Reimagining Rural Virtual Gathering. Calhoun’s story illustrates some of the big ideas shared in the first two nights of Reimagining Rural about how local residents can create a more vibrant future for our small towns.
Calhoun moved to White Sulphur Springs to build her workwear for women business and later created the popular Red Ants Pants summer music festival. Sarah will share the many positive developments in the town since she arrived including new businesses downtown, main street beautification and other public investments.
Speakers from the first two sessions are also attending and will be available for questions and answers from participants across the state. The evening will include local discussions of quick and easy projects that can be accomplished with the small grant that will be made available by the Montana Community Foundation and First Interstate Bank.
This session is the third and final in the three-part series, Reimagining Rural. The series is a collaborative effort between MSU Extension, Montana Community Foundation, the Governor’s Office on Economic Development and the Burton K. Wheeler Center at MSU. Twenty-four communities across the state are participating in this first-ever venture.
