East Fork Roping Club's Ranch Rodeo capped off the Powder River County Fair on Friday night. Twelve teams from around the region gathered to compete in events that are designed to test the cowboy's skills in areas of every day ranch life. Events included Team Sorting, Team Branding, Trailer Loading, Team Doctoring and the fan favorite, Wild Cow Milking. The Williams Ropers team of Zane Williams, Brady Williams, Ben Miller, Wyre Williams and Shyla Madsen had a combined time of 379.29 in 5 events to claim the champion buckles. Second place honors went to Mondak Ranches: Spence Ingalls, Sonnie Gartner, Trent Martin, Johann Thomasson and Justin Myers with a time of 382.74. The Rabbit Town Ranch with team members Rowdy Alexander, Keene Bends, Ty Fisher, Corbin Fisher and Kelsi Bends had a time of 411.93 to place third.

The much-anticipated Ranch Bronc Riding event, which resembles similar events from the turn of the 20th century, boasted ten riders. Using their everyday working saddles, riders are not required to mark out their broncs and are allowed to grab a night latch attached to their saddles with their free hand. Josh Halko won the event with a score of 82. Travis Good followed with a 70 point ride and Jay Phipps captured third place with a 67 point ride. Other riders included James Borntreger, Ezra Slaubaugh, Shep Hepp, Joel Borntreger, Hawks Holmquist, Sam Phipps and local cowboy Ronnie Richards.
