Montana cases continue to increase quickly. By following guidance on physical distancing, wearing masks, washing hands and staying home when ill, our community can protect itself.
All results from the Community Covid testing event are in. No active cases of Covid were identified.
Infection rates are going up in many states. People are behaving like the pandemic is over, it is not. We have yet to get through the first wave. As the cases increase in counties around us, it is important to continue following healthy guidelines.
The board of health acknowledges the mandated shut down of businesses was effective in limiting the transmission of Covid-19. It also acknowledges the negative economic impact of that shut down. Powder River County Board of Health recognizes and protects the rights of every Powder River county resident. With these rights comes responsibilities-responsibilities to your family, friends and community. By doing your part to prevent the movement of the virus in our community, you ensure not only a healthy population but a healthy economy. Our businesses need to stay open and to do that we must have a healthy community.
This virus will eventually greet us. The guidelines that are recommended are not to avoid the virus but to control the rate of spread. This will prevent overwhelming the healthcare system. It will also keep the workforce healthy in our community.
When looking for information, go to trusted sources. Your personal healthcare providers want you to be healthy. They can be a valuable resource. Information on social media is often flawed or wrong. If you choose to share information on social media, read the article to make sure the attention grabbing title is what the article is about. It’s hard to get fair news, don’t be a part of spreading flawed or false information.
Guidelines to protect yourself and your community include maintaining physical distance of 6 feet or more in groups of any size but especially in groups of more than 50, wear a mask if physical distance can’t be maintained, wash hands frequently and stay home if you are at risk or if you are ill.
