4-H Family Feature - My name is Rheanna Schroeder (pictured at far left) and I am a member of the Biddle Busy Beavers 4-H Club. This year I am showing a market hog and market steer. I enjoy washing my steer, Charlie, as well as feeding him grass and lying with him under the fans. I like racing my pig, Thunder, when we go on walks and feeding him treats. He really likes fruit and cookies.
The most challenging thing for me is working with these animals for so long and gaining their trust and then letting them go at the end of summer. It's really hard knowing that they will end up in a freezer.
My name is Jordyn Schroeder (pictured near left), I am 10 years old and a member of the Biddle Busy Beavers 4-H Club. I am showing a market steer and a market lamb this year. My lamb, named Lilo, loves to go on walks with me. My market steer is really nice and I like that I can lay down with my steer and he doesn't care. I can set him up really easy too. The biggest challenge is keeping his head up when I am showing him.
My name is Jayce Schroeder (pictured near right), and this year I am taking a market steer named Cop and an Angus heifer named Angel. I also have a market pig named Lightning. I like washing my steer and heifer so that they are nice and clean animals. What is really fun about my pig is she rolls over when you rub her belly!
The most challenging part of my projects this year would be getting my steer and heifer to lead and to walk out. My pig likes to run and play, so my biggest challenge was getting her used to a pig whip and controlling her.
My name is Danica Schroeder (pictured far right) and I am showing a market heifer this year and a market lamb. My Angus heifer, Dolly, can walk into a perfect show pose, but she is really challenging to get a halter on her. Stitch is the name of my market lamb. Stitch hates being washed, but he loves getting me soaked! 4-H Family Feature comes to us courtesy of PR Extension Office.
