Coalwood Style Show by Marie Benge

A style show provided KMJ’s Clothiers of Broadus and Joylin’s of Miles City was given at Coalwood School, April 27 sponsored by Coalwood Ladies Aid.

Hoffman wins 4th in patriotic art contest

Powder River County was once again well represented in the Patriotic Art Contest, sponsored annually by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Bill Hoffman, who won first place on the local level with his entry, won fourth place on the state level. Other local-level winners included Ty Robinson, second, Jamie Reinholz, third, and Sean Allen, fourth.

“This is the second year in a row that Powder River County has had a winner in the top five state placings,” said Broadus high school art instructor Connie Barnhart. “Last year, Bryan Strobel received third place.”

The contest is designed to promote interest in the arts as well as patriotism.
