We asked the courthouse offices what changes have been made in their services due to the courthouse shut down. Here is their info, or their responses.
County Commissioners
The commissioners will hold a meeting on Monday, April 6. The meeting will follow social distancing guidelines, and citizens wishing to attend are advised to call ahead, at 436-2657.
Clerk & Recorder
Detailed info from this office may be found in last week’s issue. The Clerk & Recorder’s office has a dropbox located in the south entrance of the courthouse to drop off paperwork. Please call 436-2361, or email [email protected] if you have any questions. Additionally, the June 2nd primary election has now been moved to a mail-in only format.
Treasurer’s Office
PR County Treasurer Pat Phillippi tells us that her office will continue to offer the standard array of services, though now business will be conducted through mail or over the phone. If a signature is needed, that may be arranged via appointment.
Please call 436-2444, or email [email protected] for more info.
Pat also mentioned that the Treasurer’s Office now has a quicker method for processing vehicles titles – they will now be scanned and sent to Helena, cutting the 1.5-2 month time it once took to receive a title down to around 1.5 weeks.
Clerk of District Court:
While the courthouse is in closure status, the Clerk of District Court office will continue to assist by telephone, email or fax during regular courthouse hours of 8 to 5, with the office closed from 12-1 for lunch. The telephone number is 436-2320, email is [email protected] and the fax number is 436-2325. If assistance is required for a passport or marriage license, please phone and make an appointment. I will escort people to my office as needed for those services. I also offer notary services and will provide them as needed when called. I can bring my supplies to the individual or again, escort them to my office. Please call for any other questions or information.
