Local PBR Bullriders/Brothers Jess and Jake Lockwood have been busy racking up points and cashing checks in the PBR this season. That is, until Jess suffered a hamstring injury on March 1 in Kansas City, Missouri, while trying to dismount a bull.
The injury tore Jess’s hamstring from his hip, forcing him to undergo surgery on March 10th in New York City. He is expected to be out for around six months.
Meanwhile, Jake has been steadily riding bulls and winning money. His most recent event, at the Unleash the Beast Gwinnett Invitational in Georgia, netted Jake a 14th place finish and $1,150 in winnings.
Jake currently sits #38 in the world, while older brother Jess still sits in the #2 position.
The PBR was one of the only sporting events still holding events through the coronavirus, with an event held last weekend with no fans in the audience – only the riders, crew, sportscasters, and bull-fighters were on hand for the event, which was broadcast on TV and the internet.
Upcoming PBR rodeos in the month of March have been canceled.
