Broadus welcomes new Assembly of God Pastor

Zachary Marengo recently took the helm as Pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Broadus, replacing Pastor Kenny Beauchene who moved to the Glasgow area.

Marengo is joined in Broadus by his wife, Victoria, as well as his young son Jericho and daughter, Jessa.

Zach and Victoria were high school sweethearts while attending school in Grand Junction, Colorado. After graduation, Zach went on to play college football at Western Colorado University, before feeling the call to ministry.

He then transferred to Trinity Bible College, in Ellendale, North Dakota, which is a small private bible college associated with the Assembly of God.

While studying at Trinity, Marengo played college football and basketball, while also working as a youth pastor.

During this period, Zach and Victoria married, and welcomed Jericho and Jessa into the world.

After graduating with a Bachelors in Biblical Studies and a minor in Church Ministries, Zach then went on to work as a coach for the Trinity College Football team this past fall. After the season, the program was unfortunately shut down due to a lack of player numbers.

Upon discovering the pastor opening in Broadus, Zach jumped at the opportunity, arrived Friday January 3rd, and gave his first sermon the following Sunday.

Marengo commented during an interview last week: "What a crazy journey it's been! We are really enjoying the community already. I'd like to thank everyone for welcoming us to the community, especially the church members, who really helped our young family in setting up life in a new location."

One of Marengo's goals includes involving the youth, saying "I'd like to help provide create an outlet for the young people to have things to do, and a place to be, as well as working with others in the community on these projects."

The Broadus Assembly of God is located just south of Broadus, on the west side of highway 212 before reaching the Powder River Bridge. Services are held every Sunday, with a bible study and Sunday school beginning at 10 AM, and church services beginning at 11 AM.

Marengo spoke of his new position: "I'd really like to provide a place for people to be united – a place to call home."
