Boad Members Re-Elected at TRECO's 70th Annual Meeting

By Gina Vineyard, TRECO Staff Accountant

This was Tongue River Cooperative (TRECO), Inc.’s 70th Annual Meeting. We had 94 members sign in for the meeting, with 164 in attendance overall. We gave away more than 25 nice door prizes, of which some were donated by a few of our vendors: Bobcat of Miles City, MECA-Montana Electric Cooperatives’ Association, NISC-National Information Solutions Cooperative, Electrical Consultants Inc., and last but not least Border States Electric.

The $500 prize is open to every member of the cooperative, and you must be in attendance to win. We drew three names: Lynnette Tubbs, Wesley Kurtz and Leonard Americanhorse, all of whom were not present. Congratulations to Tyrone Bearchum and June Persons, who won $250 apiece.

We honored several of our employees for their years of service to Tongue River Electric. They were: Tary Hanson and Brian Torgerson, each for five years of service; Heath MedicineBull, 10 years of service; and Gary Bartlett for 15 years of service.

Congratulations to you all for your dedication and service to this co-op.

Congratulations to our Scholarship recipients: TRECO Scholarships went to Kiarah Coulter, Kingston McLean, Gage Murray, Wendy Jo Spang and Bo Vocu. The Members 1st Power Cooperative Scholarship went to Hannah Rasmussen. The Basin Electric Powder Cooperative Scholarship went to Maria Stollenwerk. The TRECO Education Round Up Scholarship went to Kashus Giacometto. The Lineman Scholarship went to Thomas Drane. Good luck to each of you in your future endeavors.

After the ballots were all in and tallied by our ballot committee: Susan Dunning, Maria Stollenwerk, Sarah Notti and Brian Torgerson (Thank you all so much) the results are:

District 3 Gary Helm ran unopposed and will continue with his seat on the board.

District 5 DeeDee Isaacs ran unopposed and will continue with her seat on the board.

District 9 Jim Collins ran unopposed and will continue with his seat on the board.

The bylaw amendment passed. Votes were 134 votes for and 12 against.

I want to say thank you to all the employees, the ballot committee, St. Labre staff and others who helped make our meeting a success. Thank you for all of the help in setting up, tearing down, registration, handing out prizes, counting ballots and all the other many tasks I may have forgotten, it is greatly appreciated. Thank you once again for all your help.
