Tai Ji Quan Moving for Better Balance (TJQMBB) is a 6-month class designed to improve balance, mobility, walking and physical and mental well-being. The classes will be held twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. at the Senior Center in Broadus, and will begin Tuesday, September 17th. Classes will be taught by Julie Riley, MSU Extension Agent.
The movements are based upon Tai Ji Quan and have been specifically tailored to train balance, self-awareness and controlling body movements in performing various activities of daily life. TJQMBB has been proven effective in reducing incidence of falls by 55 to 58 percent in older adults and by 67 percent in people with Parkinson’s disease.
Enrollment is limited. Call the Extension Office at 436-2424, to register.
