Sherrie Bassett Fredrickson, teacher at Biddle School, is a recent recipient of the Montana Farm Bureau's Ag in My Classroom Contest.
The contest is a monthly award given to Montana Teachers and Educators who submitted an entry denoting a structured project or material that relates to agriculture in their classroom.
Fredrickson's entry noted that Darcia Patten had been coming to Biddle School for years, teaching the kids about the ABC's of Farm Safety. Patten gives the students, most of whom live on ranches, presentations on PTO and tractor safety, farm animal safety, and swimming safety. Darcia also brings agricultural related coloring books to the classroom.
For winning the award, the Biddle School received a prize of "Ag Accurate" materials from the American Farm Bureau, suitable for the grade levels of the students.
