This year’s camp will feature the following speakers and leadership:

Main Speaker: Pastor Jim Winters. Pastor Jim Winters is currently the Pastor of Conner Wesleyan Church and Mountain View Wesleyan Church both in the Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana. Jim has pastored full time for 28 years in Michigan as well as Oregon and now Montana. He has a passion for theological education and preaching and has taught educational classes for ordination to ministerial students in The Northwest District of The Wesleyan Church, The North Michigan District of The Wesleyan Church and Guyana, South America. Among his many hobbies is a love for the outdoors and nature. Hunting and trapping are part of that love as well as rabbit raising. As a third-generation carpenter, working with wood has continued to be a major part of his life. Residential and commercial construction in his younger life has more recently moved to smaller projects including various cabinet and furniture making projects. He has been spoon carving for over 30 years.

Worship Leader/Music Evangelist: John Capen. John has been traveling and singing gospel music since he was a teen. His dad, an inductee in the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame, had him singing tenor in a gospel quartet when he was 17. He has been traveling and singing gospel music on a part time basis ever since. John served 21 years in the US Air Force and Montana Air National Guard before receiving a call to ministry. He attended Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs and after graduation accepted a call to the Bitterroot Valley Church of the Nazarene in Victor, Montana. He has been married to Candie for 43 years; they have two children, Aaron (Murrieta, CA) and Angie (Aurora, CO). They each have 5 children. The Capen’s have 2 great grandchildren. John enjoys singing, playing guitar, bow hunting and fly fishing, as well as canoeing and camping and spending time with Candie and their family.

Youth Director & Missionary: Brian Kushman. I will be the missionary on the grounds and the youth evangelist. I look forward to being with you all. We are continuing in the ministry with Hispanics here in the USA, but God has led us even further than that. I’m excited to tell you all about it on missionary day.

Children’s Director: Naomi Umfleet. I’m entering my third year of college at Indiana Wesleyan University. I’m studying children’s ministry. I am one of the lead teachers in the preschool/ kindergarten room. God has called me to teach His young children about His love. Through this He shows me every day what it means to have a child like faith. I hope the children learn from me, and I definitely learn so much from them. Children are my passion and I cannot wait to see what God will guide me to through this career.
