Held receives scholarship

Jaeger Held, a senior at Senior High in Billings, member of the National Honor Society, and former Broadus student was recently selected as an National Honor Society Scholarship semifinalist. Held was chosen from more than 11,000 applicants and will receive a $3,200 scholarship toward higher education.

He plans to study history at Dartmouth College or Gettysburg College in the fall. At Senior High, Held is the founder and president of History Club, a member of German Club, and a senator in Student Council senator. He has also served as the captain of the Montana State Academic All-Star Team and participated as a delegate at Montana American Legion Boys State.

Held is the leader of the Montana Unmarked Graves Project through Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the researcher, editor and co-author of a 527-page report for the American Battlefield Protection Program of the National Park Service.
