A nice sized crowd was on hand for the PRCDHS JH/HS Spring Concert, held last Thursday evening.
The concert kicked off with the Winds/String Quartet performing The Seventh Symphony by Beethoven. Next, Hannah Rasmussen beautifully sang Danny Boy, an arrangement by Julie Knowles.
The Junior High Band played a variety of songs. First was Rodeo, arranged by Frank Erickson, then Epic by Larry Clark and Radiance by Brian Balmages.
The Junior High Choir took stage to sing Home by Jacobson and Billingsley and The Captain's Mate by Besig and Price.
Donovan Sturtz performed a vocal solo, Blow, Ye Winds arranged by Celius Dougherty.
Island Holiday by John Wasson was performed by the Brass Ensemble.
Next up the High School Choir performed Melody Flow by Jerry Estes, Ahrirang arranged by Brad Printz, and Who Has Seen the Wind, by Mary Lynn Lightfoot.
The Saxophone Ensemble played Pizza Party by Harold Walters.
Alessandro Galieni received a standing ovation for his violin rendition of Rondo Alla Turka, by Mozart.
The High School Band topped off the evening with performances of Joyance by Bruce Pearson, Cathedral Grove by Robert Buckley and Walkin' the Blues by Terrence O'Grady.
The graduating Seniors were then honored by Music Teachers Lisa Lynch and Lisa Gaskill. Kye Stanley was this year's recipient of the prestigious John Philip Sousa Award, while Hannah Rasmussen won this year's Outstanding Choir Student Award.
Following the concert, the music students raised money with a bake sale.
