Live Soulfully is the theme for this year’s National Nursing Home Week which takes place May 12th – May 18th. The Manor will have many events to honor the residents and would be very grateful if the community and families would participate in some or all the activities.
May 12th - The Mother’s Day Tea will take place at 1:00 p.m. Please come and enjoy coffee, tea, and dessert in honor of the lovely women who reside at the Manor.
May 13th – The annual Balloon Launch & Reading of the Proclamation will take place at 10:00, followed by a Golf Cart Parade of the interested residents. This will take place around the Courtyard Square. At 2:00 p.m., there will be a Kid’s Car Race.
May 14th – The Manor will start off the morning at 9:00 with a Progressive Poker Run. They will learn the results of the run at lunchtime. The events of the day will continue at 10:00 with Kid’s Horse Racing. There will be Motorized Horse Racing, Stick Horse Barrel Racing, and Dummy Roping. Families are encouraged to bring their toddlers & preschoolers in to enjoy this event with the residents. At 2:00, there will be a Derby Horse Race in the dining room. Please come “run the horses” with the residents.
May 15th – Need a few laughs? Join us for “Redneck Day”. 10:00 will be a showing of a Jeff Foxworthy “You May be a Redneck Show” in the Activities Room, followed by the reading of redneck jokes. At 11:30 staff will present a “Redneck Style Show” in the dining room. Next, you will be sure to have lots of laughs when community businesses join in on the “Wheelbarrow Race” through an obstacle course. Later, we will have Redneck Games including a Toilet Paper Throw and a Sling Shot Shoot. The more the merrier!
May 16th - Fishing Day! 10:00 is the Identify that Fish Game followed by Videos of Aquariums. 2:00 will bring “Fishing at the Manor” with the residents. At 2:30 (weather permitting) we will have S’mores made at the fire pit on the patio area and sing campfire songs.
May 17th - 10:00 Community ladies & gentleman, please bring in your favorite dessert for an “Old Fashion Pie/Dessert Competition’. Desserts will be judged, and then if donated, used for the BBQ/ Picnic at 11:30. This will take place in the patio area weather permitting. We also plan to have family pictures, music, Corn Hole tournament, and Horseshoes throughout the afternoon.
