The holidays are over and we are experiencing some unusually warm winter days making it easy travel to the Manor. Now that the hustle and bustle of Christmas is past, please know that you are always welcome to share some of your spare time visiting our lovely residents at the Manor. Volunteering to read, show pictures of a vacation, play games, come in for some stimulating poker playing, or share your talents such as singing, dancing, instrument playing is a wonderfully rewarding experience for you and the residents. If you have a group or individual practicing for an event such as Speech and Drama, dancing, cheerleading, or music, come on in and practice here. The residents make great practice audiences and enjoy the change of pace.
Some of the group activity dates for you to consider are as follows:
1) January 22 at 2:30 p.m. - Ladies’ Tea. Enjoy a drink, dessert, and conversation with the ladies at the Manor.
2) January 25 at 9:45 a.m. - Rusty Zipper. Share current events while eating cinnamon rolls and drinking coffee with the residents.
3) January 30 at 1:30 p.m. - Pie Social. Come in and eat pie with the residents and share stories of the past and present with them.
4) Poker is every Wednesday from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. The men really appreciate outside participation and what better way to get out of the house in a winter’s day. Please come and invite your friends.
Also, we are trying to set up an “Adopt a Grandparent” program where kids come in after school to read or play games with the residents on Thursday afternoon from 3:30 – 4:45. If you are interested, please give us a call.
If you are willing to donate your time and/or talent, please give Mona Bronson or Kathy Bowers a call at 436-2646. We would love to put you on the calendar.
Thanks so much for your consideration and participation.
