This past weekend our Speech and Drama went to Sidney to perform at their invitational, along with eighteen other Class A, B and C schools. Our little band of thespians performed well under the pressure of such a large meet. Samantha Perry performed her piece, “The Raven” as a dramatic solo for the first time. She did an amazing job of memorizing and performing in all 3 preliminary rounds. Megan Johnson presented her Dramatic oral interpretation and made it to finals and took a home a 7th place award. Erick performed his informative speech and received a 4th place awards in his final round.
On Saturday, January 12, we travel to the Huntley Project Invitational along with 28 other schools for the largest meet we have performed at thus far. It is a daunting task, but these students are resilient and extremely talented. This will be our last meet before Divisionals at Plentywood on January 18-19.
The Activity Department and the Speech and Drama team would like to extend an invitation to our Speech and Drama Open House on Wednesday, January 16th at 4pm at the Powder River County District High School library. All three students will be performing their pieces for your listening pleasure. Please come out and support this vibrant and talented group of students.
