Rosalie O’Neal passed away December 11, 2018 at the nursing home in Sundance, Wyoming.
She was born in Miles City, Montana on May 28, 1931 to Ralph and Nellie Irion, and was raised on the family ranch near Mizpah Creek. Rosalie attended college in Miles City and went on to graduate in Dillon, MT with a degree in teaching. She taught school in Powder River County for three years. In 1953 she married Kendall O’Neal and they resided in Billings, Montana before moving back to the family ranch. After 14 years on the ranch, Rosalie became the Postmaster of Olive, MT, where her and Kendall made their home. She retired after 21 years of service to her community. In 2013 Rosalie moved to Gillette, Wyoming to be closer to her family. She was very proud of her family, her heritage, and most of all her grandchildren. Rosalie was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her father Ralph Irion, husband Kendall O’Neal, mother Nellie Irion, and brother Gerald Irion.
Rosalie is survived by her son and daughter in law, Tom and Teresa O’Neal of Gillette, Wyoming, and grandchildren Steven and Molly O’Neal of Johnstown, Colorado.
