While the National Finals Rodeo was taking place in Las Vegas, the Junior National Finals Rodeo was also being held, allowing the future stars of rodeo an opportunity to compete just minutes away from their older brethren.
One of these young rodeo up and comers – Garrett Cunningham of Broadus, competed in the Senior Saddle Bronc event. Last Thursday, Garrett tied for 3rd and 4th place with a 64. On Saturday, he was bucked off during the second round.
In the short go on Monday, Garrett took 3rd with a 67. When the scores were tallied, Garrett had the points to win second place, or Reserve Grand Champion overall.
Garrett is a Sophomore at PRCDHS, and is the son of TJ and Heather Cunningham of Broadus.
