Football All Conference selections

Five members of coach Lynn Safranski’s 1988 Broadus Hawk football team were named All Conference. Included are Ron Richards, All Conference running back and special teams; Mark Wenzel, Honorable Mention, defensive line; Bill Isaacs, Honorable Mention, linebacker; Andy Cathey, All Conference offensive line, and Tary Hanson, Honorable Mention, defensive back.

Broadus students place high at math meet

Broadus students scored high academically at the Ekalaka Invitational Mathematics Meet on November 15, competing against fifteen southeastern Montana teams.

Steve Strobel, senior academic standout, placed second over-all individually in the Sweepstakes. And, the “junior varsity” group from Broadus tied for first place in the team event. Members of the junior team included underclassmen Bonnie Lind, Tami Archer, Ryan Graff, Stephanie Minow, Lyssa Thaden Bryan Strobel, Janey Earley and Rochelle Thompson.

Varsity team members competing, along with Steve Strobel, included Vikki Richards, Curt Philip, Stacey Alderman, Kassie Askin, Sonia Lind and Michelle Richards.

The team members were selected by instructors Kit Goodwin and Wendy Vallejo. Selections were based upon grade point averages in math and general academic excellence.
