The Building a Better Broadus event, hosted by the Powder River Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, drew a sizable crowd to the Powder River Historical Museum last Tuesday evening.
"I think the event was a success," Chamber President Melissa Billing commented on the get together. She added that the Museum provided a nice location to host the event.
Attendees wound their way through the front rooms of the museum, checking out the nicely executed displays laid out by the organizations, chatting with others, and dining on a fine selection of hor d'oeuvres and drinks provided by the Chamber. All the while, the museum displays beckoned the attendees to gaze at the variety of local history housed within the walls of the museum.
The event was intended as a community networking event to draw together local organizations, to help foster positive communication, and teach others of the organization's goals. Organizations represented at the event included the Chamber of Commerce, the Endowment Fund, the 4-H Council, the Broadus Volleyball Club, VFW Auxiliary Poppies, Broadus Schools, Broadus Trails, the MSU Extension Office, Business Professionals of America, Powder River County Transportation, the Powder River First Responders, TD Montana, the VFW, Faith Bible Church, the International Organic Inspectors Association, the Powder River Historical Museum, the Powder River Congregational Church/UCC, Faith Bible Church, and others.
Billing hopes that the event will be a yearly occurrence, as she received a lot of positive feedback from this year's attendees. She commented: "By working together, we can build a better Broadus."
