Broadus Elementary News

Elementary Halloween Costume Rules: Costumes must conform to the School Dress Code. Costumes should not cause a disruption to the school program. No weapons, toy weapons, or props replicating weapons are to be brought to school. No props or equipment that are unsafe. No costumes are allowed that completely hide the identity of the student, such as a gorilla suit or the “Scream” movie character. Costumes must not impair a student’s vision or movement. No masks are permitted in classrooms, although masks that do not obscure identity or impair vision may be permitted if your classroom teacher allows it. Costumes should not depict gangs or horror characters, or be scary. Aim for “positive costumes”. Students are encouraged to dress up as historical characters or delicious food items. If you are not sure, don’t wear it. If you have questions, contact Mrs. Ternes.

Parent Teacher Conferences: Forms will be mailed with report cards on Monday, October 29th. Please return your forms as soon as possible. Tuesday, November 6th 3:30-7:00 (Elementary). Thursday, November 8th is EARLY OUT at 2:20. PTC are from 2:30 to 6 (Elementary). The high school conferences are scheduled for 4:00-7:30 on Tuesday, and 3:00-6:30 on Thursday. Mrs. Ternes will be at the high school on Tuesday evening, and the elementary on Thursday evening.

MSU Rural Education Students - October 28 through October 31st four sophomore MSU students and their supervisor, Dr. Jayne Downey, will be observing and presenting lessons in Broadus schools and touring our amazing small town. If you see them around town, please give them a warm small-town welcome!

Missoula Children’s Theatre: An audition will be held this Monday, October 29, at the HS Auditorium from 3:30-5:30 p.m. for the SNOW QUEEN. Those K-12 auditioning should arrive at 3:30 and plan to stay for a rehearsal ending at 5:30 for young students. Most students rehearse every day M-F starting at 3:30. Plan Halloween activities around required rehearsals. Performances are scheduled for November 2, 6 p.m. and November 3, 12:30 p.m. Call Mrs. Lynch for more information. 436-2658 or 2637.
