Follow meat from the pasture to your plate, by learning how to make your own sausage. Making sausage at home can be a fun way to explore new seasonings and flavors in the convenience of your home and is a great activity to do with your family. You also know exactly what is in your homemade sausage! Historically, sausage is one of the oldest known forms of processed meat and has been a very desirable, “quick-and-easy” meal for generations.
Powder River Extension will be hosting a Sausage Making Workshop on Wednesday, November 7th at the Broadus Community Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. Participants will be learning the basic steps for easy and safe sausage making. Registration by contacting the Extension Office at 436-2424. The cost per participant is $15.
Roxi Dinstel, past MSU and Alaska Extension Agent, will be facilitating the workshop along with other Extension agents.
“Any workshop with Roxie is entertaining and educational,” said Mary Rumph, who worked with Roxie before she headed to another state. “Knowing Roxie, we’ll probably have some Alaskan venison to add to our pork and beef planned for the workshop,” added Rumph.
The equipment for the workshop is funded by a Montana SARE Program Grant.
