All commissioners were present to conduct county business for the day.
No public comment was heard.
Rich Biesheuvel, acting Building and Grounds Supervisor, met with the board to report they are working on the landscaping at the Manor. Marty is off for six weeks. All agreed to add more man power to cover for Marty. Rich is going to put in more hours and try to get more help from other county employees if anyone is willing to put in more time.
Kathy Roberts, Transportation Director, reported the big Ford van that was supposed to be here shortly will take at least eight months longer. The small van will be here sooner than expected.
Teel Mullanix, Road Supervisor, presented estimates for the Cemetery Road from Century. The project will be paid from BaRSSA, Special Gas Tax funds. It will take between three and five years to build up the necessary funds to complete the project.
Donna attended a Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting. The group discussed hiring another part-time driver but will wait to make a decision until meeting with the commissioners on the budget. Adding weekend and evening trips was discussed but it would have to added to the 2020 fiscal year plan and to also receive federal assistance for those trips.
Cherie Stachey, Nursing Home Administrator/Director of Nursing, reported a census of 26 residents.
Donna did the monthly jail inspection.
Rod left the meeting.
The MACo District meeting was discussed and plans were talked over.
Tim Fortner and John Barbero, noxious weed board members, visited with the commission after their weed board meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 5:45 PM.
July 3, 2018
At 9:00 AM, the commissioners met for the second day of their scheduled meetings. Darold Zimmer and Donna Giacometto were present.
The County Safety Committee meeting was held with Teel Mullanix, Road Supervisor; Cherie Stachey, Nursing Home Administrator; Matt Hagedorn, Undersheriff; and Kathy Roberts, Transportation Director present. On July 17, 2018 an active shooter walk through will be held at the nursing home. The Sheriff’s Office had a Narcan training for opioid overdoses. Narcan is an injection used to counter the effect of opioids. Panic buttons for the Manor and Clinic were discussed.
Teel Mullanix, Road Supervisor, presented the board with a bid for a new blade with a trade-in. No decision was made.
Resolution 2018-12, a resolution requesting distribution of local government road construction and maintenance match program funds, was presented to the board for consideration. The resolution is a request for BaRSAA Special Gas Tax Funds to be dispersed to the county and must accompany the application. Darold moved to accept the resolution. Donna seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. The resolution will now be a part of the Webgrant application to receive the funds.
Having completed all current business, and hearing no public comment, the board adjourned at 3:00 PM.
