The Broadus cross country team ran in their first competition of the season last Friday at the Hardin Invitational. That course is near Crow Agency, and is a challenging run featuring a steep hill and open terrain with little shade, making for a tough run when the temperature climbs to around 90 degrees, as it did the day of the competition. Returning coach Ashley Emmons had four runners competing in the meet, including returning racers Sean and Christian Oylear and Addison Draine, along with Reece Emmons, who ran her first ever 5,000 meter...
Hawk football played their second game of the year, hosting the Ekalaka Bulldogs on a lovely Friday evening. The Hawks scored on a QB keeper in the first quarter, as Jayce Schroeder ran 40 yards for a touchdown. The two-point conversion was no good. Throughout the game, Ekalaka's relentless rushing attack, as well as Broadus turnovers, pushed Ekalaka ahead, while miscues on offense with incomplete passes and lost yardage plays proved to be too much for Broadus, as the Hawks went down 6-16 after...

Despite the challenge, Broadus tracksters rose to the level of competition, making the podium in a number of events. Of p...

The Broadus Track team – both boys and girls, achieved a number of placing ribbons at the 4C District Meet last week in Baker, and will send a large contingent of the team on to the Southern Divisional, this Thursday in Laurel. With only the top two placers in each event as automatic qualifiers for Divisionals, Broadus Coach Faith Dyrud knew the team would have to perform well at Districts. The next top 4 from within the division would also qualify, but those numbers wouldn't be completely f...
