Overall, 29 people and two dogs ran or walked either the 1-mile, 3-mile or 5-mile races.     July 13, 1923 John Broaddus Tells Story with a Tail to It A cow, owned by John Broaddus, became hopelessly bogged in Powder River a few days ago, and had to be killed to end its suffering. Mr. Broaddus sought to salvage the carcass by feeding it to his hogs. There was an overabundance of meat even for the hogs and they could not devour all of it.     Following a dry spring, the local weather in June was decidedly moist. The storms which had thus far been avoiding much of SE Montana found their way into the region. A flow of moisture from the southwest was responsible for many of the June storms, as damp air streamed northwards, dumping monsoonal type moisture from June 10th onwards.     Copious quantities of moisture fell on Southeastern Montana Friday night, with Broadus receiving 1.50" in the deluge.   • Rollover Claims Life Of Local Teen

    Early Monday morning, a rollover accident on Hwy 212 claimed the life of Josiah Middle Rider, age 19, of Broadus, and sent an Ekalaka man to the hospital in Rapid City. Montana Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred near mile marker 92, approximately 12 mile east of Broadus, with authorities dispatched to the scene at 4:42 AM.
