    September 28, 1923 Ship Poultry by Parcel Post A poultry raiser residing near Broadus has found that dressed chickens, ducks and turkeys may be marketed with good profit by using the mail, sending them via parcel post to Chicago. Last year 15 fat White Rocks under six months netted him $1.75 each and large Rhode Island Reds gave him $1.40 each.     Last week in District Court, an arraignment hearing was held for Shane Copps, in which he pled not guilty to two felony theft charges. The charges date to incidents which transpired in August and September of 2021, when Copps was employed by PR County. Copps is alleged to have submitted requests for reimbursement for installation of equipment on a 2020 Ford Explorer owned by PR First Responders.     Powder River County has had it's first case of West Nile Virus detected in a horse. This was reported to Public Health last Friday. As of 9/8/2023, Montana has WNV activity reported in 23 different counties. DPHHS has reported 26 human cases of WNV this season. Of the cases, 11 have been classified as neuroinvasive. 8 cases of WNV have been identified through blood donation. Two people have been hospitalized in Billings with severe West Nile Virus symptoms. John Just, owner of the Otter Creek Saloon in Ashland, was charged with two felonies. It is alleged he sold an AR15 to an undercover Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms undercover agent in his bar.
