Jolly Arrested, Still Confiscated John Jolly was taken completely by surprise about noon Friday when federal prohibition officers, assisted by civil officers, swooped down upon him and put him out of “business.” The “business” was the operation of a liquor distillery, contrary to law. On January 9th the Powder River Masonic Lodge #135 met at a Table Lodge to celebrate "The Feast of Saint John." After the Lodge closed they moved to the Broadus Barbero VFW Hall to serve a free meal of BBQ beef and seafood bisque to the community. 60 towns people attended and enjoyed food and drinks. Broadus High School students found themselves on a mid-winter break last week complete with "work from home" duties, as heating issues at the school compounded to force the closure of the school throughout most of the week.
