The thing I like the most is spending time with my family. **Ilea Wahl Last year Santa left his hat! But there’s no magic in it. I wonder if it was a joke? But what if it’s real? **Scarlett Talcott Christmas brings me joy because family comes over and I love it so much. I love it when we are together. We get to eat a lot of food, we get to play games, and we open gifts together. I love Christmas! It bring...
By Mrs. Swenson’s Fourth Grade Class My family has a few Christmas traditions that I like. One is that my Grandma Holly always picks out dresses and dress clothes for all the kids to wear. At my house no matter what we do during the rest of the day we always spend Christmas morning at my house opening our presents and stockings. I love our Christmas traditions! ***By Reece Emmons My family has some special traditions so I am going to tell you. This is one...

By Jessica Malone We've had an interesting and surprisingly eventful year at the Powder River Historical Museum. The COVID shutdown closed our doors for the season and meant cancellation of several planned events. The Medora Teddy Roosevelt impersonator, the new Homesteader Days summer event and a special Women's Suffrage Centennial Celebration all fell victim to the virus, but we hope to eventually reschedule some or all of these activities. Fortunately, we were still able to utilize much of...

Children and grandchildren could have the opportunity to participate in the management of a family business or could finance their education using assets gifted from family members. According to Goetting, the types of property that can be gifted i...

By Powder River County Public Health Officer Sean Hill GOOD NEWS! The more we find out about COVID, the better we can tailor our response. After significant research, the CDC, along with other top scientists, have modified the quarantine recommendations, decreasing the number of days a contact needs to quarantine. While there still remains some risk of developing the illness up until the 14-day mark, the most susceptible period occurs prior to the 10-day mark. This should help in the hardships people face with a full 14-day quarantine. Powder...
