Alyssa Riley, recently graduated Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, has returned home to Southeastern Montana to practice her trade. While in vet school, Riley interned and worked at Broadus Veterinary Clinic, and even before she graduated this spring the decision to return home was an easy one: "These guys at the vet clinic are so great to work with. Dogs, cats, and ferrets in Powder River County are now subject to quarantine, under an order issued by the MT Department of Livestock last week. A Powder River County skunk was diagnosed with rabies on June 3rd, which caused the quarantine order on June 4th. One dog was exposed to the rabid skunk and is being managed for exposure to rabies. The terms of the quarantine are as follows: 1. The county swimming pool is set to open this Sunday, June 6th, according to Pool Manager Libby Nisley. A high speed pursuit along Hwy 212 ended in one man being tazed and pepper sprayed, last Friday night. The pursuit began around 10 PM, after Powder River County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to pull over Jacob Dreyer of Portland, Oregon, for a suspended driver’s license. June 3, 1921 Valuable Violin totally wrecked A 400-year-old violin, owned by Mel Miller, musical composer of East Fork, this county, was totally demolished when a saddle horse Miller was riding tripped with him and in falling crushed the instrument beyond repair.
