The average daily high in Broadus for the month of July was an astounding 98.5 degrees, with 13 days of triple digit temperatures. The high for the month was 110, recorded July 27th, matching the all time daily high for Broadus, recorded just last month, on June 15th. A storm last Thursday carrying some lightning, some rain, and a lot of wind swept across the county, leaving a path of broken branches and small fires in its wake. Broadus received 0.12" of rain in the storm, while areas to the south received no moisture. Reports of heavier rain also trickled in from around the county. This is the 6th time we have hosted a “4K” group. They love our Broadus hospitality of home-cooked dinner and breakfast, hot showers, laundry and an evening trip to the pool.
