    The Broadus School Board met for their December monthly meeting on Monday, with all members in attendance except for Shasta Madsen, who was not able to attend due to the dreadful road conditions on Monday evening.     By Pat Ridenour Because Christmas and New Year’s Day fall on a Wednesday this year, we decided to have the Senior Congregate Meal on MONDAY, DECEMBER 23, and MONDAY, DECEMBER 30 for those holidays.   • Basketball teams kick off season

    The Broadus High School basketball teams traveled to Jordan last Saturday for the first games of the season. The Boys and Girls JV teams started out the action, with the Boys JV winning 48-31, and the Girls JV team falling 21-27. Due to game scheduling and the inclusion of a Plevna Girls Varsity team, the Broadus Varsity Girls team did not play at Jordan on Saturday.     The Broadus High School and Junior High Christmas Concert took place on December 5th. This year, a special High School/Community Choir Ensemble sang several songs.     The Broadus wrestling team traveled to Sidney last Saturday, for the first tournament of the season. Due to Broadus not having the prerequisite ten practices before the tournament (as a result of weather), the team made another practice Friday, heading up Saturday. Wrestling for the Hawks was Seth McDowell, at 126 pounds, Corbin Irish, at 145, and Dakota Holbrook, at 170.
