    The Powder River Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture’s Broadus Christmas Stroll takes place this Friday, November 30th. Area business will hold numerous events throughout the day and evening to punctuate the event. Old favorites include the Parade of Lights, with line up to begin a 5 pm, and the parade beginning at 5:30. The NFR Calcutta will be held at 7 pm, at the Big Sky Bar.     Over the past weeks, the student athletes at Broadus High have been preparing for their respective disciplines with long practice sessions at the high school. Official practice for the winter sports – wrestling, girls basketball, and boys basketball, began on November 15th, but many athletes prepare year round, working out in the weight room, running to keep their cardio up, or shooting hoops in the summer to maintain their skills.     The annual Santa’s Secret Shop, sponsored by the Teen 4-H Club, will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 30th in the Courthouse Lobby during the Christmas Stroll. Santa’s Secret Shop is a community service event that combines 4-H teens with young shoppers to encourage an independent, low cost shopping experience.     Daniel Raymond "Ray" Gaskill, age 87, of Ashland, MT, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018, in the Holy Rosary Hospital from natural causes. Ray was born on June 5, 1931, in Miles City, Montana, the son of Dan Jr. and Martha (Steadman) Gaskill. He attended grade school in Ashland. During high school he stayed in Miles City with his uncle, Joe Gaskill, and graduated from Custer County High School in 1949.     The official election results have been certified in Powder River County, after a provisional ballot was counted. No results changed, though the totals did change. Of the 1297 registered voters in Powder River County, 984 ballots were cast. In the US Senate race, county wide voting was as follows: Tester - 203, Rosendale - 748, Breckenridge - 22.
