Mail will once again be available at the Broadus Post Office this week, going back to their normal hours. The move comes following a month of limited mail due to a car wreck which punched a hole in the side of the post office building on October 9th, forcing the building’s closure and temporarily moving mail service to the community center and for a few days, Volborg. On Monday of this week, the Powder River County Commissioners opened bids from five companies for the Moorhead Bridge replacement. The bids ranged from just under 1.9 million to 2.3 million. October temperatures trended on the warm side in the local area during the month of October, while a mid-month storm dropped a sizable amount of snow on the area, sending precipitation levels above monthly averages. On October 7th and 8th, Broadus hit new record highs of 86 degrees for those days, while the high for the month of 89 on the 5th fell short of the record temp for that date, which was 90 degrees on October 5th of 1920. Broadus High School Senior Dakota Holbrook on Monday was named to the Bob Cleverley 8-Man All-Star Football Team for his work this season playing for the Hawk Football Team. November 11, 1921 Making Old Trails as County Roads Jesse Spielman, County Surveyor, has completed a survey of some of the old primitive trails in the northern part of the county which have been designated as county roads by our commissioners.
