The month of October, 2019 was the fourth coldest on record in terms of average monthly temperature in Broadus. The 41.6 degree average temperature for the month was slightly higher than the average recorded in 2009 and 1946, with the record low monthly average for October coming in 1969, at 38.6 degrees. On Monday evening of this week, the Broadus City Council met for their monthly meeting, as well as holding a public hearing to discuss the implementation of a proposed sewer rate increase. No members of the public appeared at the meeting to speak for or against the project. The members of the committee are Kristy Elgin, Dave Gardner, Mike Riley, Wendy Richards and Shane Copps. The goal of this committee is to gather information on healthcare issues in the county and provide recommendations to the county commissioners. The Broadus Lady Hawk Volleyball Team kicked off the District Tournament in Glendive last week by traveling up on Wednesday evening. On August 25, 1946, Stanley married the love of his life Georgia Ruth Gould, whom he adored until her passing in 2015. To this union, three sons and two daughters were born.
