  • Lady Hawks bring home first place trophy from District Tourney

    Nov 5, 2020

By JH Coach Raevyn Slovek The JH Lady Hawks finished their volleyball season on the 10th of October, and what a season it was! We started a “normal” season but were put on hold for a week due to COVID-19, then lost a few for the remainder of the season due to COVID. Even though these young ladies were thrown numerous curveballs they continued to work hard on and off the court. Their efforts paid off and we had a great season! A Team (5 Wins, 3 Losses): Alixandra Heacock, Gracey Bradley, Maggie Mader, Maddie Zimmer, Kendal Stanley, Rebecca Aye...

The 1990 Hawks took over the record for total points scored by a team during a single season with 198, surpassing the 155 point record set by Coach Lynn Safranski’s team last year. • JH Football season synopsis

    Nov 5, 2020

By JH Coach Zachary Marengo Coaching junior high football was an absolute privilege and blessing this year. Spending hours teaching the best game in the world to young men is a vehicle to growth and maturity athletically, but also mentally and socially. We had a great bunch of eighth graders with Jayce Schroeder leading the offense at quarterback in his first season there. He also led the defense playing middle linebacker where he could be a vocal leader for both sides of the ball. Also, in the class was Duke Blankenship who led the offensive l...

  • Letters To The Editor

    Nov 5, 2020

Dear Editor; November 11th is Veteran’s Day. This is the 75th year after the end of WWII. As a very small child I remember being held and hugged by lots of veterans, WWI neighbors and many returning vets from WWII. While I was too young to understand the conversations, I could tell they really respected each other and helped each other. Many of the vets were home on leave and re-enlisting. Korea came and more vets left for service. All of the vets were honored for their services in my community of Butte Creek and the surrounding area. Over t...

Sammie helped her Grandpa name this collection "Raindrops". She told her Grandpa that they...

Did you know even a small muscle group like ankle flexors can impact your ability to walk with confidence? Consider the key elements of a good walking pattern: • good posture with eyes forward not down, • a strong ankle flexion and heel strike directly forward -not opening to the side • easily transferring weight from one foot to the other • forward movement - you could walk along a wide board. To assess fall risks, researchers examine stride-length (how far apart your feet are front to back),...
