The Broadus Lady Hawks went into the 2C District Volleyball Tournament in Glendive last week as the number one seed, having gone undefeated in the regular season. Their top seed allowed for a bye in the first round, while all other teams in the conference had to play a match. This meant Broadus' first match of the tournament was against Ekalaka on Thursday afternoon. By Broadus FFA Advisor Faith Dyrud Monday, October 17th, the Broadus FFA went to NILE to compete in Livestock and Horse Evaluation. The Livestock Team consisted of April Wood, Rheanna Schroeder, Mia Mader, and Jayce Schroeder. We had two compete individually. Those individuals were Kensi Emmons and Kayleigh Opstedahl. In the Livestock contest there were 800 individuals competing overall coming from 6 different states. The Broadus Livestock team placed 26th. The Liscomb Mountain 4-H club held their first meeting of the 4-H year on October 16, 2022, at the Stacey Hall. There were four new members present at the meeting. The Mystery At The Museum Halloween event at the Powder River Historical Museum last Saturday drew around 100 visitors and raised nearly $900 for the museum, according to event organizer Jessica Malone. The “murder mystery” event treated visitors to a guided tour of the museum, where visitors would look for clues about the suspect, the weapon used, and the location of the crime, similar to the “Clue” game. November 3, 1922 Grade School Teachers Raise $92, Halloween Entertainment Mrs. Gertrude Ross and Miss Bernice Peasley, Broadus grade school teachers, are happy over the financial and social success of the Halloween entertainment given at Shorty’s Hall Friday evening under their direction. Courtesy MT FWP MILES CITY – Cold, wet weather settled into southeast Montana on Saturday and Sunday, making for a challenging opening weekend of the general hunting season. Traffic was a bit slower than usual at area check stations Sunday, and harvest success rates were down a bit due to winter weather conditions.
