Eighteen teams competed at the Hettinger Classic Wrestling Tournament last weekend in Hettinger, North Dakota. Despite the small size of the town (around 1051), larger schools from around the area are drawn to the two day event, including teams such as Glendive, Miles City, Sturgis, and assorted more local schools, as well as your Broadus Hawks. Despite missing two games just before Christmas due to weather, the three week hiatus between games proved to be no huge problem for the Hawk and Lady Hawk Varsity teams, as they crushed Terry and Plevna over the weekend. Barbara Ann Slager of Dayton, Montana passed away at age 94 on December 22, 2022. Born in Monte Vista, Colorado on Sep 16, 1928, Barbara was the daughter of Charles and Willa Huckins. Charles was a rancher and Willa was a teacher. Both are members of the Range Riders Hall of Fame. Barbara graduated from High School in Miles City, Montana. She got her Teacher's Certificate at Colorado Women's College, and kept it active through the University of Montana.
