We had 10 students qualify for the National competition to be held in Dallas, TX on May 4th-8th, which is a difficult task indeed. Just after 8 AM on Thursday, March 17th, Broadus emergency services personnel responded to a call for a vehicle wreck on the highway near Broadus Vet Clinic, on the outskirts of Crane Acres heading west. The vehicle wreck involved a 1984 Chevy Camaro traveling eastbound when the driver attempted to pass a semi. The car was struck head-on by a westbound semi, per MHP reports. Earlier this month the Broadus AAU Mixer was held at the high school gym, with 31 Broadus wrestlers in attendance, competing against teams from Miles City and Colstrip. Broadus Coach Frankie Schoonover told us that Broadus kids wrestled in a total of 94 matches, and Miles City took the team trophy. Competition is fierce between the top Steps for Charity teams and just two weeks are remaining to get in those extra steps! Robert "Bob" Kramlich, 86, of Paynesville, MN passed away on March 12, 2022, at MorningStar Senior Living at Ridgegate in Lone Tree, CO, where he and Della had been residents since September 2020. With the proper spelling of "intoxicating" in the 9th round of the finals, Justin Aye, Broadus 7th grader took home top honors at the County Spelling Bee last Thursday. Two students from the South Stacey School, Second Grader Emma Mills (above left), and First Grader Thane Kolka (above right) competed in the MSU-Billings Science Expo last week.
