  • Broadus Cross Country Team is off to STATE

    Ashley Emmons|Oct 18, 2018

This journey started as just a dream for me. I can remember countless times of wishing and explaining to my husband, Patrick, why cross country would be such a great sport for Broadus to have, and how amazing it would be to be the coach. When I first heard that cross country was approved, there was not one single doubt I was going to apply for the position. In August, three freshman girls decided to try something new and make this dream become a reality. Two and a half months later these three f...

  • Duncan Hill near Belle Creek to be fixed

    Oct 18, 2018

There’s been a great deal of consternation over the past several years regarding a stretch of road in Southeastern Powder River County. The road is that from Boyes to Belle Creek, which traverses some rough country and sees a decent amount of truck traffic headed back and forth to the oilfield at Belle Creek. During wet periods, the steep terrain of Duncan Hill has been the site of several truck slide-offs, and the resulting rutted conditions have made for tough driving conditions, according to local residents. Much of the frustration over t...

  • Hawk Football beats Lodge Grass on the road

    Oct 18, 2018

The Broadus Hawks High School Football team rolled into Lodge Grass to play in rather chilly conditions, last Thursday. "The temperature was around 34 degrees, with really high humidity, as it had snowed earlier and melted," Broadus Coach Ross Randall commented. These conditions didn't hurt the Hawks, as their strength on offense – their run game, was not impeded by a cold, slippery ball. Larry Hunt, Corbin Irish, and Tate Harmon ran for a combined five touchdowns. The Hawk starters quickly s...
