    The 2020 drought in Powder River County continued through September, as Broadus received .46" of precipitation on the month, falling over a half inch behind the 1.08" September average. The miniscule precipitation totals in September fall into line with the rest of 2020, which has been the driest on record through the first nine months of the year. From January 1st through September 30th of this year, the Broadus weather station located at the courthouse recorded 5.43" of precipitation. The...

Last year Riley, as a 7th grader, built the robot that can be seen in the photo.     A community blood drive will take place on Thursday, October 22nd from 2-6 PM at the Broadus Community Center. At the upcoming blood drive in Broadus, Vitalant, the company running the blood drive, will test for COVID-19 antibodies. The company is currently looking to draw plasma from COVID-19 survivors, as their CCP (COVID Convalescent Plasma) is used as a treatment for current patients. Plasma donations are requested from COVID survivors who have been symptom free for more than 28 days. These donors must fill out a questionnaire when making...
