Last week in District Court, an arraignment hearing was held for Shane Copps, in which he pled not guilty to two felony theft charges. The charges date to incidents which transpired in August and September of 2021, when Copps was employed by PR County. Copps is alleged to have submitted requests for reimbursement for installation of equipment on a 2020 Ford Explorer owned by PR First Responders. Hawk Football won for the first time this season on Friday, beating the Lodge Grass Indians by a score of 36-24, during Broadus' Homecoming. In order for the game to even take place, Broadus Bus Driver Ernie Reaves made a trip to Lodge Grass and drove their team over to Broadus and back, after Lodge Grass was unable to locate a driver for the game. Broadus Cross Country ran in Baker last weekend, in Baker's inaugural XC meet. Broadus Coach Ashley Emmons told us that this is Baker's first year with an XC team, and the course, which was run on the Lakeview Country Club Golf Course, was a mostly flat course that allowed the runners to put down some great times. HELENA – Youth hunters can get a head start on pheasant and waterfowl hunting during the 2023 Youth Pheasant and Waterfowl Weekend, which is Sept. 23 and 24. Lady Hawk Volleyball split wins in their matches Thursday and Saturday, handily beating Plevna on Thursday during the Broadus Homecoming, and falling in their first conference loss of the season in a five set match at Circle. The Broadus FFA chapter went to District Leadship School September 6th in Miles City, MT. This was a leadership event that focused on everyone's leadership skills and ability to work together. Barbara's life adventure began October 29, 1932, as the youngest child of Chester and Edna (Vaara) Bruce. She joined two older brothers, Norman and Jimmie on the family ranch near Boyes, Montana.
