    The Broadus Hawk Varsity football team notched their first win of the season on Friday against a tough Ekalaka Bulldog squad while playing in Ekalaka. The win marks the first game as head coach for Wyatt Williams, who takes over this year after a stint as assistant coach in years past.     The Lady Hawk Varsity volleyball team opened up their season with a series of wins, as Broadus hosted Plevna last Friday and traveled to Fairview, winning that tournament on Saturday.     Forty teams were on hand for the Lady Hawk Cross Country Team’s first competition of the year at the Billings Invite, held Friday, August 26th in Billings. With 133 runners in the Girls Varsity race, and another 183 runners in Girls JV, competition was tough, and made more difficult by weather conditions.   • Paving Projects Completed

    The cemetery road repaving project was begun and completed last week, using BARSAA funds, which are state funds allocated to counties for road and bridge projects. Three lifts were used on the road, which ties the town of Broadus to the cemetery, and the road is much improved from years past. On Monday, Sacrison Paving from Whitewood, SD repaved two water main projects, one near the library and another on the corner near Evergreen Apartments, both on Lincoln Avenue for folks who know the street names. She passed away on August 21, 2022 at Powder River Manor in Broadus, MT at the age of 87 years old. Bev married Delbert 'Hardtimes' Rogers on February 29, 1956 in Hobbs, New Mexico. They were married 44 years until his passing in 2000.
